Harrisburg Social Evening

The Statewide Outreach Committee hosted a social event in the Capital Region on Thursday, June 5th. The purpose of these Outreach events is to connect with larger groups of our members who live beyond Philadelphia and its suburbs. This is our second such event this year, following on the heels of a very successful event in Catasauqua, Pennsylvania (Lehigh Valley area). As we did in the Lehigh Valley event, we surveyed the membership local to the region to determine what they would most like to be the profile of the event. They were heavily in favor of a casual social event, and the suggestion of attending a minor league baseball game was very well received.
So, members of our Outreach Committee, together with several gentlemen from our Board of Managers met up with a dozen or so local members to enjoy cool beverages at Duke’s Riverside Bar & Grille before walking over to City Island to take in a Harrisburg Senators game vs The Reading Phillies at FNB Field.
The gathering enjoyed spirited baseball and some ballpark hot dogs and beer. It is always a pleasure to connect with some of our members farther afield, and we look forward to our next gathering later this year, location still to be determined.
