EVENT INFORMATION:

Please join us for an evening of touring Washington Memorial Chapel, located in beautiful and historic Valley Forge National Historical Park. Our guide will be Mr. Gardiner Pearson, a member of the Chapel’s Board of Directors, and a fellow member of the PSSR. Our Society and its Color Guard have been supporters of the Chapel for over 100 years, and the Chapel and the people of Washington Memorial Chapel have been welcoming hosts to us. Learn more about our contributions to preservation of the Chapel, the story of its founding, and the intricate, patriotic, and symbolic craftsmanship throughout.

Following our tour, we will be treated to an official taste-test of historically authentic punches by Punch Masters Les and Jobie Ford. The Fords have perfected their craft and have complemented it through the study of 18th century tavern operations and historical brewing. They provide historical beverages in the most authentic way possible and educate people on the importance of taverns in pre-Revolutionary and Revolutionary America. We will be presented with three original punches, and each of our Society members will have the chance to vote on their favorite for the official Society Punch. Lessons on the history of punches, historical brewing, and preparation will be provided by the Fords throughout the reception.

In addition, an open bar and food will be provided.
