News from The Lehigh Valley
President Whelan’s Member Outreach Initiative continues to organize popular membership receptions. Following on from our social last year at Taylor House Brewing in Catasauqua, PA, this year we chose The Sun Inn and Tavern in Historic Bethlehem, to host our Lehigh Valley membership for a convivial gathering on March 19th.
The events of that day began with one of our New Citizens Naturalization Ceremonies at the Lehigh County Courthouse in Allentown, PA. Twenty-eight new citizens from around the world took the oath of allegiance and then celebrated with Presiding Judge The Honorable Anna-Kristie M. Marks, and six members of the Pennsylvania Society, who assisted in the Welcome Ceremony. Enormous gratitude goes out to Society Historian Dr. Edwin S. Hart III for his continued oversight of these important ceremonies in Allentown.

After the New Citizens Ceremony, we caravanned to the historic Sun Inn and Tavern (built in 1758) in Historic Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, where we had over 30 members and prospective members join us for camaraderie, cocktails, and an impressive spread of heavy hors d’oeuvres. As always, it was great to connect with old friends and meet new ones.
These Member Outreach events are a perfect opportunity for members to get together to meet other members from the local community, but they also provide our members with a fun event to invite other prospective members to see what The Sons is all about. There are no greater advocates for our organization and our mission than are our members, and we encourage guests to attend whenever possible.
