Membership Outreach Event, Lehigh Valley
One of President Whelan’s core objectives, established when he became President last April, was for the PSSR to have greater engagement with our members beyond the Philadelphia area. The first such event happened this past January.
The Member Outreach Committee hosted an event in the Lehigh Valley at Taylor House Brewing in Catasauqua on Thursday, January 30th. We had about 25 members and guests join us for camaraderie, cocktails, locally brewed beer, and the offering of a rather good local food truck, all the while competing in a bar trivia contest with the local George Taylor Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and other patrons. For the record, we did outperform the ladies of the DAR, as thankfully, many of the trivia questions were related to the Revolutionary War, Civil War, and presidential history.
We would like to extend a special thank you to Committee members Timothy B. Hennessey and Dr. Edwin S. Hart III, as well as our Society Executive Director, Schuyler C. Wickes, for their contributions in organizing this event.
