Varnum’s HQ Collection Finds New Home
September 15th marked an important day for the Pennsylvania Society as our collection of 18th Century and Revolutionary War artifacts, that has been a large part of the Valley Forge National Historical Park’s featured collection at Varnum’s Headquarters for at least the last 50 years, has finally found a new home. The Society has accumulated this important collection of artifacts over the last 100 years, from members, from donors, from auctions and from other Partners in History.
The Varnum’s Headquarters house at Valley Forge Park is being decommissioned after over 50 years of featuring our collection, and the Society was tasked with finding a new home for the almost 190 items in the collection. We are pleased to announce that our friends at Historic Trappe in Trappe, PA are thrilled to be taking our entire collection to feature in a new historic house, The Muhlenberg Parsonage, that is scheduled for a grand opening to the public in April of 2026. We look forward to many years of partnering with our new friends at Historic Trappe, and we are pleased to report that the move of our artifacts on September 15th went off without a hitch.
